Captain John has been a Captain of the Desert Belle for over 25 years. He is Coast Guard Certified with 100 Ton Master Captain’s License. He has completed over 3600 trips on the Desert Belle totaling over 32,000 miles. John enjoys gardening, cooking and woodworking. He also has an extensive writing and entertainment resume:
- Producer of Emmy award-winning short film Reveille.
- Writer/Executive Producer of six feature films including Locker 13 starring Ricky Schroder.
- Produced and hosted numerous local television and radio programs including Arizona Book Nook, Morning Coffee, and Live…on tape!
- Wrote material for national and local radio including The Tim and Mark Show and The Howard Stern Show.
- Performed Stand-up comedy for 13 years at venues like The Tempe Improv and The Ice House in Pasadena.
- Improv training with David Razowsky of Chicago’s Prestigious Second City.
- Finishing his first Arizona-Based comedy/mystery novel titled Illegal Procedure.
